Content + Collaboration - Recommendation
نویسنده
چکیده
Building recommender systems, that filters and suggests relevant and personalized information to its user, has become a practical challenge for researchers in AI. On the other hand, the relevance of such information is a userdependent notion, defmed within the scope or context of a particular domain or topic. Previous work, mainly in IR, focuses on the analysis of the content by means of keyword-based metrics. Some recent algorithms apply social or collaborative information filtering to improve the task of retrieving relevant information, and for refining each agent’s particular knowledge. In this paper, we combine both approaches developing a new content-based filtering technique for learning up-to-date users’ profile that serves as basis for a novel collaborative information-filtering algorithm. We demonstrate our approach through a system called RAAP (Research Assistant Agent Projec0 implemented to support collaborative research by classifying domain specific information, retrieved from the Web, and recommending these "bookmarks" to other researcher with similar research interests.

Interdisciplinary Collaborator Recommendation Based on Research Content Similarity
Most existing methods on research collaborator recommendation focus on promoting collaboration within a specific discipline and exploit a network structure derived from co-authorship or co-citation information. To find collaboration opportunities outside researchers’ own fields of expertise and beyond their social network, we present an interdisciplinary collaborator recommendation method based...
متن کاملALEF: from Application to Platform for Adaptive Collaborative Learning
Web 2.0 has had a tremendous impact on education. It facilitates access and availability of learning content in variety of new formats, content creation, learning tailored to students’ individual preferences, and collaboration. The range of Web 2.0 tools and features is constantly evolving, with focus on users and ways that enable users to socialize, share and work together on (user-generated) ...
متن کاملContent Reuse and Interest Sharing in Tagging Communities
Tagging communities represent a subclass of a broader class of user-generated content-sharing online communities. In such communities users introduce and tag content for later use. Although recent studies advocate and attempt to harness social knowledge in this context by exploiting collaboration among users, little research has been done to quantify the current level of user collaboration in t...

Web 2.0 is potentially a great force that can generate a vast wealth of knowledge, based on the collection of information from different individuals and communities, effectively representing a collective intelligence. This paper presents several essential steps from of an overall study on shaping new ways of learning and teaching, by using the synergetic merger of three different fields: Web 2....
